“Thanks for making such a beautiful cake…it was delish!”

Painted wedding cake

Actress Abby Elliot & screenwriter Bill Kennedy tied the knot in Old Saybrook, Connecticut and hosted the reception at the bride’s parents’ home. Abby is the star of the Comedy Bravo series Odd Mom Out, her father is comedian Chris Elliot, and her grandfather is Bob Elliot, of the legendary radio comedy duo Bob and Ray.

The beautiful home is a 1830’s Gothic Revival, and accordingly the tented reception décor had a vintage feel to it. Tables were dressed in blue linens, and set with mismatched vintage china. Centerpieces consisted of gold mercury glass compotes filled with red & burgundy berries, roses, and dahlias.

Abby & Chris wanted this cake to be unique and like no one else’s so in designing the wedding cake Ana took inspiration from the floral envelope liners. The floral design was hand-painted by Ana on the light blue fondant covered tiers. Red sugar roses and gilded fondant details finished this unique wedding cake.
